Cactus Chronicles

In May of this year, I hiked the 72 mile long Cumbria Way through the Lake District from Ulverston to Carlisle. Having recently returned from a 3 month adventure travelling through Chile and Argentina, I had a newly discovered love for cacti! Having encountered so many of these prickly armed giants in the South American landscape, I decided it would be fun to make a soft squidgy cactus cushion which could I carry with me on my walking escapades. My green fabric companion took on the role of a prop in photographs as I traversed the Cumbrian terrain, weaving my way along drystone walls and over spongey sun-kissed pikes.
